Houcine Ammouta as the new coach of UAE side Al Jazira. He will take charge of the club on a contract that runs until 2026.
Ammouta played in the UAE soccer league as a player for Charjah in the 2002-2003 season, before embarking on a successful spell in Qatar with Al Sadd as player and coach.
Before joining Al Jazira, Ammouta made his mark as coach of the Jordanian national soccer team, leading the Nashama to their first-ever Asian Cup final in Qatar.
He also qualified the Jordanian team for the final stages of the next Asian Cup (AFC-2027) in Saudi Arabia, as well as for the third and final round of Asian qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
The Moroccan coach will be on the Al Jazira bench for a training camp with the club in Spain in July.
