The United States is “grateful to Morocco for their regional leadership”, said U.S. State Department spokesperson, Matthew Miller following a phone call between Secretary of State, Antony Blinken and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.

Blinken had a “productive discussion” with Bourita, the spokesperson stated in a post Friday on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The United States recently highlighted the importance of Morocco’s support to the President of the United States, Joseph R. Biden’s proposal as “a way to build a more integrated, more peaceful and more stable Middle East”.

The Kingdom “hopes that the various parties concerned will adhere to this initiative and commit to implementing its different stages”, the ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates underlined in a press statement.
