SDX Energy has announced that it has received the necessary government authorizations to launch gas production in Morocco.

In a press release, the company said Monday that “gas production has begun” at the KSR-21 well in the Gharb region, near Kenitra.

Last January, SDX reported its drilling tests carried out in the fourth quarter of 2023 in the same well were successful. The exploration enabled the well to be connected to the existing infrastructure, with a view to starting production after governmental authorization.

SDX holds a 75% working interest in its Moroccan portfolio, which includes exploration licenses, concessions and gas wells.
