Morocco's dam water levels hold firm despite heat waves
Sunday 14 April 2024 - 11:45

Despite the recent persistent heat waves hitting Morocco, dams are holding steady at a 32.82% filling rate as of Sunday, with a total reserve of five billion and 291 million cubic meters.

Today’s figures closely mirror those of the same day last year, registering at 33.91% with a reserve of five billion and 467 million cubic meters.

While there has been some progress in water levels since the beginning of April, the ongoing heatwaves threaten to reverse these gains, potentially returning the situation to the dire levels observed just weeks ago.
