Moroccan ports  recorded overall traffic of 88.4 million tonnes (MT) in 2023, an increase of 1.4% compared to 2022, according to the National Ports Agency (ANP).

“The activity of the ports managed by the ANP reached a traffic level of nearly 25 million tonnes in the 4th quarter of 2023, an increase of 24.4% compared to the same period of the year 2022, “equivalent to nearly 4.9 million tonnes, thus bringing overall traffic for 2023 to 88.4 million tonnes, or +1.4%”, indicates the Agency in a press release.

The cumulative turnover (CA) of the ANP at the end of last December stood at MAD 2.5 billion, up 20.1% compared to the same period a year earlier, under the effect of the good development of products linked to concessions. Concerning the consolidated turnover, it increased by 19.6% to MAD 2.8 billion, mainly due to the increase in the turnover of the ANP.

Furthermore, the ANP indicates that its investments, in Q4-2023, reached MAD 176 million, compared to 152 MDH during the same period a year earlier.
