Bayern Munich will be without the services of Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui for several weeks, after he suffered an injury during his club’s match against VfL Bochum on Sunday.
“FC Bayern will have to do without Noussair Mazraoui for the next few games. The right-back tore a muscle fiber in his left hamstring during the away match against VfL Bochum. This is the result of an examination carried out by FC Bayern’s medical department,” said the club in a statement on Tuesday.
The player was forced off the pitch in the 33ᵉ minute of the match against Bochum and was replaced by Frenchman Dayot Upamecano.
Bayern Munich’s management is keen to renew Mazraoui’s contract, which expires in the summer of 2026. Negotiations between the two parties could be affected by the length of his absence.
