In a statement posted to Instagram, Amrabat highlighted the national team’s strong desire to bring home the cup.

“In the end, we left our blood, sweat and tears on the field, but it was not our mekteb (destiny),” the Atlas Lion wrote.

The Moroccan midfielder thanked the Atlas Lions staff and players for their hard work and dedication to the national team, writing: “We are one big family and take responsibility in good but especially in the bad moments.”

Amrabat concluded his statement by thanking fans of the Moroccan national team for their support, in victory as in defeat.

“You are without a doubt the best fans in the world, even in defeat you show the love you have for your country and those who represent you,” Amrabat wrote.
