Policemen from Casablanca’s Sidi Bernoussi district arrested a taxi driver on Saturday for alleged involvement in a kidnapping case linked to a robbery with violence, according to a security source.

The suspect had transported a woman and her brother from a public place in the rural area of Ain Harouda to a Casablanca neighborhood late at night, the same source said, noting that the first victim got out of the taxi in a way that exposed her physical integrity to danger before fleeing, while the second victim was kidnapped and robbed.

Investigations into this case, reported by national media, led to the identification and arrest of the suspect in the Ain Harouda area.

The suspect was placed in police custody for the judicial inquiry to reveal more ins and outs.
