The Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported, in its weekly bulletin released on Friday, a total of 105 new cases of COVID-19 infection and zero fatalities.
Covering the epidemiological situation from December 23 to 29, the ministry specified that the number of individuals receiving their first vaccine dose has reached 24,924,440. Meanwhile, those who have received both doses amount to 23,426,374. Notably, 6,887,645 individuals have received a third vaccine dose, and 61,305 have received a fourth dose.
The latest weekly tally of infections brings the total number of confirmed cases to 1,278,269 since the first case was reported in Morocco on March 2, 2020. The weekly positivity rate stands at 4.1%.
The newly reported infections were reported in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (40), Grand Casablanca-Settat (20), Souss-Massa (14), Marrakech-Safi (11), Fez-Meknes (10), Daraa-Tafilalet (4), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (3), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (1), the Oriental (1) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).
The total number of deaths remains unchanged at 16,300 (general fatality rate of 1.3%), while the current active cases stand at 118.
