For 45 minutes, a group of Orcas attacked and sank a Polish boat off the coast of Morocco in the Strait of Gibraltar, making this the fourth occurrence of this kind in the region in the past two years.

According to several media reports, the killer whales attacked the Grazie Mamma II boat, operated by the Polish tour company Morskie Mile. The long attack resulted in significant damage and leakage.

Despite the efforts of the captain, crew, search and rescue teams, as well as the Moroccan navy, the yacht ultimately sank near the entrance of the Tangier-med port.

Luckily, all crew members made it out alive, as they were evacuated before the yacht sank.

Scientists are now puzzled, analyzing all similar attacks that happened in the past two years, trying to determine the motives behind them.

However, they determined that Orcas particularly like smaller boats. Researchers suggest that the attacks are a form of interaction and play, as Orcas are not usually a threat to humans.
