The report showed that Moroccan authorities have successfully facilitated the voluntary repatriation of 3,317 individuals in 2023 in collaboration with diplomatic entities from their home countries, and in coordination with the International Organization for Migration in Morocco.

The report also emphasizes that this process not only combats illegal immigration networks but also ensures the safe repatriation of migrants.

The Royal Moroccan Navy saved 10,405 people from drowning and provided essential assistance and support, including 6,495 individuals of foreign nationalities.

In line with the National Strategy for Migration and Asylum, the Ministry of Interior and related sectors have been actively working on regularizing the status of refugees, with approximately 1,300 refugees recognized by the Office of Refugees and Stateless Persons until September 2023.

Additionally, the Ministry has contributed to the fight against human trafficking through the provision of statistics and proposals to the National Committee, aligning with Law No. 27-14. The asylum law is also in the final stages of approval, while Immigration Law No. 95-14 remains under study by the General Secretariat of the government.
