The 2nd National Investment Commission, established by the new Investment Charter, convened in Rabat on Thursday under the chairmanship of Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, approved 19 projects worth 31.5 billion dirhams, corresponding to the creation of 11,742 direct and 9,280 indirect jobs.

These projects, whether under the main support scheme or the specific scheme for projects of a strategic nature, are all carried out by private companies, said a statement by the Head of Government’s Department, stressing that this 2nd National Investment Commission reflects exceptional results following the adoption of the new Investment Charter, in accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty The King, and confirms the growth dynamic of private investment in the Kingdom.

The projects are dominated by the electric mobility sector with 22.5 billion dirhams, i.e. nearly 71% of committed investments, followed by the mining sector with 13% of projected investments and the automotive sector with 10%, said the same source.

In terms of jobs, the electric mobility sector is the main provider. Projects in this sector are expected to create 4,458 direct jobs, i.e. over 38% of the jobs to be created, while projects in the aquaculture, agrifood and automotive sectors account for 17%, 11% and 9% of projected jobs respectively.
