With the approval of King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, the Supreme Council of Ulema held its 31st ordinary session in Rabat on Friday.
Marked by the presence of Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, at the inaugural session, the meeting will examine the issues on the agenda, namely the presentation of the main lines of the plan for implementing religious values and consolidating the media presence of the Ulema institutions.
Speaking at the opening of this session, secretary general (Al-Amine) of the Supreme Council of Ulema, Mohamed Yessef, underlined the High Solicitude of King Mohammed VI for the Ulema of the Ummah, as evidenced by the building of the new headquarters of the Supreme Council of Ulema.
He also highlighted the major role of the Ulema in the full mobilization of the Ummah on spiritual, patriotic and religious levels.
The official noted that this session was being held against a backdrop of many new developments, notably the extension, under the Sovereign’s blessing, of the network of Ulema Councils in Morocco through the creation of Regional Ulema Councils, as well as the institution’s new headquarters and organization chart.
Yessef noted that this scientific institution has taken important steps towards consolidating religious science, promoting the role of the Ulema and preserving the history of the Ummah and its specificities, under the leadership of the Commander of the Faithful.
