Morocco’s under-23 team beat its Guinean counterpart in the opening match of the 2023 Africa Cup on Saturday evening, in the Moulay Abdellah’s stadium in Rabat.

The match began with the Atlas Lions dominating the field, but the control remained modest without being translated into attack balls that threaten the goal of the Guinean team.

The course of the first round continued in this format, as Abessamad Ezzelzouli’s comrades found great difficulties in deciphering the Guinean team’s defense, before the latter was able to score the lead goal from a fixed ball in the lost time of the first round.

With the beginning of the second round, the Moroccan team looked to adjust the result, by creating offensive maneuvers, before the Somali referee granted a penalty within the 66th minute, played byCaptain Ezzelzouli for the equalizer goal.

The minutes of the last quarter of the match were characterized by offensive pressure from the Moroccan team, eventually culminating in the second Moroccan goal.
