Four children hailing from an Indigenous community in Colombia have been discovered alive in the southern part of the country following a plane crash that occurred over five weeks ago in the dense jungle.
The siblings were successfully rescued by the military near the border region connecting Colombia’s Caqueta and Guaviare provinces. The rescue operation took place in close proximity to the crash site where the small aircraft had gone down.
The ill-fated plane, identified as a Cessna 206, was carrying a total of seven individuals on a scheduled journey from Araracuara, situated in the Amazonas province, to San Jose del Guaviare, a city within the Guaviare province. Unfortunately, the flight encountered a critical engine failure during the early hours of May 1, leading to the issuance of a distress signal.
