In an exclusive interview with Hespress English, Spanish DJ Pablo Fierro opened up about his background, creative process, and unwavering dedication to delivering captivating performances.

Pablo Fierro was among the exceptional lineup of six artists at the remarkable Lost Nomads event, held on June third in Agafay, Marrakech.

Fierro, renowned for his eclectic fusion of sounds and beats, expressed his receptiveness to various musical genres, particularly those rooted in ancestral traditions that resonate deeply within him.

“I appreciate it when music touches your soul in some way,” shared the DJ, whose set preceded the grand finale at the Agafay Sahara dance music extravaganza.

His performance featured remarkable tracks that seamlessly incorporated influences from diverse cultural contexts, showcasing Fierro’s ability to draw inspiration from a wide range of sources.

Transporting the Lost Nomads attendees to another realm, Fierro’s set redefined the concept of a desert rave. Reflecting on the experience, the DJ expressed the significance of the night on multiple levels.

“Morocco is my mother’s birthplace, and I hold a deep affection for the country and its culture. Lost Nomads is one of the most exceptional events I have had the privilege of attending, and its organizers are truly remarkable. Furthermore, the fact that it coincided with a Full Moon made it even more special. The energies were vibrant, and I felt immense joy playing here,” explained Fierro, who was accompanied by his brother, the esteemed DJ Juan Fierro.

Following his performance, Pablo embarked on a brief exploratory journey in the enchanting city of Marrakech, located a mere hour away from the festival grounds.

“I am currently exploring the city, and I find myself captivated by its streets brimming with history and culture. The scents, colors, and warmth of its people are truly mesmerizing,” shared Fierro with Hespress EN.

Prior to his set, the crowd had swelled in size, a testament to the immense popularity Pablo enjoys in Morocco.

When asked about his awareness of this devoted following, the gifted artist expressed overflowing gratitude for the kingdom’s reception, stating, “I am incredibly grateful to receive the love from such wonderful people. It is a true blessing for me. Music is experienced with great intensity in this country, and Moroccans possess a deep passion that I resonate with.”

Enthusiastic fans of Pablo Fierro danced the night away, fully immersed in his meticulous attention to detail with each song he played. From cherished Arab tunes that Moroccans hold dear to electronic music classics and his distinctive layered compositions, Fierro’s set was a testament to his artistry.

“When I step up to perform,” shared Fierro, “I do so with immense respect and love for the audience. They purchase a ticket with the desire to disconnect from their daily lives.” He continued, “My role is to envelop them in my love through music, so they can go home and say, ‘I have experienced an extraordinary moment, dancing and feeling the music.’ It is the greatest gift I can receive. I am deeply grateful to the people of Morocco, and they will forever hold a place in my heart!” concluded the DJ at the end of the interview.

Alongside his brother, the Fierros enjoyed Moroccan specialty Tanjia in Jemaa El Fna square, visited the smallest of alleys and witnessed Moroccan craftsmen doing their magic, and played Tbel with local artists.

Fierro previously collaborated with the Moroccan artist Triq Hmitti for his song “Moulay”, heavily influenced by Gnawa music.

His Lost Nomads set was unique, with fans holding red fire torches, and a swarmed VIP area with hardly any room to spare, Pablo Fierro’s performance is one for the books.
