Moroccan TV’s Ramadan hit show L’Maktoub will not be renewed for a third season, despite the open-ended cliffhanger that closed the show’s last season.
Several stars from the show confirmed its end with season two, including Salwa Zarhane and Anas El Hamdouchi who took to social media to confirm the news.
A source from the show’s production company Connexion Media told Hespress that the main reason behind L’Maktoub’s cancelation is “the audience’s eagerness to watch new productions.”
“if “L’Maktoub” aired outside of Ramadan, it could have produced a third installment or a year-long series,” the same source noted, adding that it chose to “focus on new stories and projects of the same quality in terms of story, direction, and production.”
