King Mohammed VI of Morocco marked the 67th anniversary of the creation of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) with an address to officers, non-commissioned officers, and non-commissioned soldiers.
In his speech, he praised the members of the FAR for their dedication to the defense of the nation and its people. He emphasized the importance of the FAR’s role in defending the country’s territorial integrity and called for continuous work to improve the planning and command system, develop a wide network of communication and information, and maintain vigilance and adaptability in the face of changing global dynamics.
The King stressed the need for rational and qualitative approaches in strengthening the defensive, operational, and logistical capabilities of the FAR.
He announced the creation of the Royal Center for Defense Studies and Research, under the Royal College for Higher Military Education, to contribute to the consecration of the strategic approach in the treatment of the problems and challenges of the defense and security system in its global dimensions, and to create a space of analytical, civil, and military skills.
The King highlighted the importance of maintaining solid structural relations with various partners and friends, which has greatly contributed to strengthening Morocco’s defense system and consolidating the capital of its Armed Forces, as a reliable partner in establishing security and disseminating values of tolerance and peace, in accordance with international conventions.
He praised the FAR’s continued openness to their external environment, which manifests itself through the intensification of partnerships with the armies of friendly countries, the active participation of Moroccan contingents in peacekeeping operations, and the strengthening of support to brotherly African countries in the field of education and training in Moroccan military institutes and schools.
Finally, the King commended the FAR’s efforts in managing emergencies, relief, and social solidarity, including the mobilization of military cadres to support the formation of a new promotion of conscripts to military service.
He underscored the importance of training conscripts in both basic military expertise and professional qualification, helping them sharpen their technical, physical, and psychological capacities. The King concluded by expressing his pride in the FAR and its members, and their contribution to the country’s security and prosperity.
