Moroccan city Laayoune pens twining agreement with Hollywood, Florida

 The American city of Hollywood in the state of Florida State and Morocco’s Laayoune signed a twinning agreement on Wednesday, to improve their mutual understanding and cooperation in business, culture, education, and tourism.

The twinning agreement was inked at the Laayoune municipality’s administrative center by Josh Levy, the mayor of Hollywood City, and Hamdi Oueld Rachid, the head of the Laayoune City Council.

Abdeslam Bekrate, the governor of the province of Laayoune, and representatives from the two cities’ governments also attended the signing ceremony.

The agreement encourages the two cities to work together on projects and programs that promote twinning and cooperation in the areas of culture, the arts, academic research, economy, sustainable development, and tourism.

The cooperation will strengthen the Moroccan Sahara’s capital’s international and foreign relations, which will have an impact on the socioeconomic development of the city.

Hollywood and Laayoune will cooperate on principles of religious tolerance and cultural emphases in order to advance social and environmental frameworks, according to the agreement.

The youth of Laayoune city will benefit from the academic and university exchange programs that will be executed under the collaboration agreement.

The agreement symbolizes the cordial relationships between the two cities as well as the friendship between Americans and Moroccans.

The American Delegation went to the Laayoune Regional Investment Center to check out the socioeconomic initiatives that have been finished or are being finished, as well as the investment potential in this area.

The American Delegation visited The Municipal Women’s Club, the Medicine University construction site, the University Hospital Center, the African Institute for Research in Sustainable Agriculture, and the Phosphate Port.
