After his provisional release, several rumors circulated on social networks about Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred, after he was release from prison.

The singer, accused of assault and rape in France, was rumoured to be currently in Morocco.

However, this information would be false, according to an informed source consulted by Hespress AR.

“Lamjarred is still in France, accompanied by his wife and parents, and he has not planned any visit to Morocco at the moment, because of some of his personal obligations,” the source said.

Rumors about “the withdrawal of Saad Lamjarred’s (Moroccan) passport (by French authorities), and his ban from leaving French soil, are also wrong,” added the source.

The Moroccan artist was sentenced last February to 6 years in prison for the controversial case in France.

His lawyers requested provisional release while the case was tried on appeal.

Hespress sources also stated that the convicted artist is “working on new music” to relaunch his career.
