Developed by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the Youth Pass is a concept associated with an app that provides services in culture, sports, transportation, lodging, training, and banking to Moroccan people between the ages of 16 and 30.
It has only been launched for testing in the cities of Rabat and Sale, as it awaits observations and feedback.
To proceed to the next phase after downloading the app, one needs to create an account, upload a copy of their ID, and take a clear selfie with a white background, explained the ministry in a video shared on April 28.
The account can be validated after you receive a link to click on at your email address. The user-friendly app displays the various services it provides after logging in while they wait for a further verification notification to begin using the Youth Pass.
The ministry provides a monthly or annual credit with instructions on how to utilize it, together with its numerous partners such as stadiums, museums, and other cultural venues.
For example, if a user who has registered on the app wants to visit a museum, all they need to do is see if that museum is listed on the app, then visit it, where the entrance will be free as opposed to a regular cost that users who are not enrolled on the Youth Pass app should pay.
For instance, if the entry fee is 40 Dhs, the museum will deduct that amount from the user’s monthly credit after scanning the Youth Pass.
While some ministry partners with listed facilities on the app provide a monthly credit, others chose a yearly system.
Along with other features, the app displays news about Moroccan youth as well as historical landmarks, youth centers, and other details.
