The National Commission for the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP) has announced that it will be holding hearings to investigate technical allegations made by Citizen Lab, Amnesty International, and Forbidden Stories. As part of this process, the CNDP has extended an invitation to Citizen Lab to participate in a hearing.
In addition to this, the CNDP is continuing to study documents provided by Amnesty International and has indicated its willingness to hold working meetings with other interested parties.
The commission has also announced that it will be holding a hearing on Friday with an international specialist in Strategic Intelligence, who will be discussing the impact of malicious cyber interference and geo-economic conflicts.
The CNDP has emphasized that this hearing will focus on ethical rules related to attribution, which is the process of assigning responsibility after analyzing technical traces.
The commission notes that previous hearings with national and international experts have highlighted the importance of approaching the issue in a dispassionate and impartial manner, without any preconceptions.
The commission also revealed that it is working on establishing an international network to define regulations for the ethical use of technologies.
In order to prepare its conclusions, the CNDP is continuing to engage with national and international experts, as well as studying various reports and testimonies in accordance with scientific, technical, and ethical standards. The commission plans to share its findings with the public as soon as they are finalized
