Jacques Bouthier, who has been held in pre-trial prison since his arrest in May 2022 on charges related to the rape of several Moroccan women and a minor, was freed on Monday due to medical concerns.

On a bail of 500.000 Euros, the former CEO of Assu 2000 is now free, according to French media Le Parisien.

The same source stated that the investigating judge released the French millionaire for health reasons, after receiving a medical report revealing that his health was deteriorating due to “malnutrition” during his detention in prison.

The medical report recommended that the 75-year-old detainee be taken to the hospital as soon as possible since his health contradicts the continuance of the incarceration.

Le Parisien confirmed that the temporary release of the French millionaire is accompanied by judicial supervision by the authorities.

The shocking ruling stirred the dissatisfaction of the Victims Authority, which expressed its surprise at the step taken.

Four young women filed a complaint in Morocco against Bouthier, for trafficking in human beings, sexual harassment, and verbal and psychological violence.

A French lawyer told BFMTV, that “the investigative judge’s decision will increase the suffering of the victims of the businessman.”

A young Moroccan woman living in France previously filed a complaint explaining how she was held captive by Bouthier for five years and declared that she has sex tapes of the two of them.
