The allegations peddled in the Pegasus case are “based on erroneous technical assessments” and “rely on hasty conclusions in an attempt to implicate certain countries,” said Friday in Tangier, president of the CNDP (National Commission for the Protection of Personal Data), Omar Seghrouchni.
Speaking at the hearing of the US expert in cybersecurity, Jonathan Scott, author of the report “Exonerating Morocco – disproving the Spyware”, Seghrouchni stressed that “we do not seek to defend a particular truth, but rather to bring out the truth through an adversarial debate”.
He recalled that the CNDP intends to report the evidence provided by Scott and other experts to their critics to arrive at clear and scientifically impeccable conclusions, stressing that the Commission remains open to any competent person wishing to discuss this topic.
