Aya Gold & Silver Inc, a Canadian-based mining company, released new high-grade exploratory drill results that indicate the extension of mineralization by 20% south of the main mineralized zone and the identification of several parallel structures at Boumadine in Morocco.
“We are excited with these drill results at Boumadine, which extend mineralization by 20% to over 3.2 kilometers and confirm the existence of parallel zones that significantly increase the potential to add high-grade ounces,” said Benoit La Salle, President & CEO of the corporation.
He explained that the 2023 drill exploration program has virtually doubled in size compared to last year’s, with the goal of extending the primary mineralized trend to the south and defining known mineralization in order to submit a resource statement within the next 12 months.
Aya’s latest drilling program is scheduled to be completed by the middle of 2023. The relogging and resampling of past drill holes are currently underway, with completion expected this year.
Aya has created a quality control procedure to ensure that best practices in drill core sampling and analysis are followed.
Last month, the same corporation announced its fourth quarter and annual silver production figures at the Zgounder Silver Mine, revealing a 17% increase in silver production in 2022 compared to 2021.
Ever since the company deepened its collaboration with the Moroccan national office from hydrocarbons and mines (ONHYM) by increasing its ownership of the Zgounder silver mine to 100%, annual silver production went up by 17%.
The overall mine production increased by 28.4% in the fourth quarter of 2022 and by 29.3% in 2022 compared to 2021 as a whole.
