After a lot of teasing, Netflix finally released the fourth season of the psychological thriller “You”, following the story of Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager who happens to also be a serial killer.
The fourth season saw a drastic change compared to the three first ones, as the main character moved from the US to the UK.
To promote the show, Netflix created a twitter account with the name “You”, where it seems like Joe is managing the account and talking.
This marketing technique was based on humor because many tweets have modern pop culture references and follow recent twitter trends.
This season has a rich cast with many new characters as opposed to the other seasons where the storyline turned around the same few characters.
Netflix has released the first part of this fourth season on February ninth and plans to release the second part on March ninth.
The series examines the psychodynamic perspective of erotomania as well as Joe’s obsessive love for his sexual interests.
Additionally, the show addresses concerns about the morality and potential repercussions of manipulating situations, as well as how Joe’s invasive and cunning methods best represent the psychology of stalking, murder, and violence in order to create the illusion of an ideal love relationship.
