Moroccan international Selim Amallah, who recently moved to Real Valladolid, admitted that he had bad memories with his former team in Belgium, Standard de Liege.
Amallah confirmed, in an interview with the Belgian “eleven sport” website, that he had some bad memories with Standard, especially in his last year with the team. He was surprised by the fans’ reaction to his move to Spain in the last days of the winter transfer period.
”When I moved to Liege, I thought I would have a great story, but now that I’m gone and I remember what happened, I have a lot more bad memories than good,” Amallah said.
He added, “They say that I did not remain silent, but this is not true.. When you are offered something that does not suit you, you must reject it.. They said that I did not comply because I agreed to renew, and this is false. What I said is that I agree to discuss the offer only, I did not, I am convinced, so I did not renew, it is very simple…”.
“I am very happy with this experience outside Belgium. I have great ambitions and look forward to giving everything I have to help the team..Since my arrival, things are going smoothly and I feel like I am in a family atmosphere, especially with the presence of my teammate Jawad El Yamiq, which helps me a lot to integrate and adapt.”
Real Valladolid officially announced last Tuesday that it had signed a contract with the Moroccan national team player after the World Cup finals, with a contract that extends for four and a half years.
