Chelsea is reportedly planning on cutting Hakim Ziyech from their main Champions League squad, sports media Football Insider reported.
This would mark the latest blow to the player after a deal to transfer to PSG collapsed, with the French team claiming that Chelsea sent the right documents twice but without a signature, and when the correct version was received, the deadline had already passed.
“He’s a professional player and understands the situation. He’s committed to us and available for the squad against Fulham. He will be an important player for us for the rest of the season,” Chelsea manager Graham Potter told British media.
Turkish team Beşiktaş could still snatch the player despite the end of the Mercato, as the Turkish league’s transfer window remains open until February 8.
Beşiktaş intends to make an offer to Chelsea to include Ziyech on loan until the end of the current season, according to Turkish media reports.
