The long-awaited Mondialito, or FIFA’s Club World Cup, debuted in the city of Tangier with a lavish ceremony in which Moroccan culture was portrayed through numerous celebrations in front of an international audience.

Tangier’s pride, the medieval traveler Ibn Battuta, dubbed “the traveler of Islam,” was also honored at the event.
As many dancers waltzed in, swaying to the rhythm of music from various regions of Morocco, Moroccan DJ Kaoutar Sadik kicked off the celebration with special mixes. Moongoose, also known as Adil Nekkach, an internationally renewed afro house, and hip-hop dancer from Casablanca, was one of the performers.
At the Tangier stadium, the dancers wore modern interpretations of traditional Moroccan attire and performed while light games accompanied them.

As the audience cheered loudly, clips of the national team’s triumphant journey at the World Cup were shown.
The Moroccan rapper Dizzy Dros came on stage to perform one of his biggest hits, “LBallon”, a song about football
