Political Scientist Mohamed Tajeddine El Husseini intervened in Parliament on Thursday where he stated that France has all the documents confirming that the Sahara is Moroccan.
In a long presentation, Mohamed Tajeddine El Husseini, Political Scientist and Professor of International Law and International Relations at the Mohammed V University in Rabat, solemnly indicated: “I remember a few years ago, before the House of Councilors, we had long debated the same theme, the Moroccan Sahara with a broad reading of geopolitical developments“.
For Tajeddine El Husseini, there is no doubt that France has all the documents confirming that the Sahara is Moroccan. In this regard, he advances some details of these colonial actions regarding the Moroccan borders and territories that France had “stolen” from Morocco.
He continued, “a lot of water has flowed under the bridge. The situation has evolved and the developments have been unquestionably in favor of the cause of the Kingdom and its territorial integrity.
For Elhusseini, El Guerguerat was a vital piece for Algeria’s ambitions of an Atlantic pathway, which the recognition by the USA of the Moroccan Sahara thwarted along with the consulates opened in the Sahara by several countries.
On the recognition by the United States of the Moroccan Sahara, he said that American and Middle Eastern newspapers have recently made a state of the presidential agreement for an acceleration of a large-scale military industrialization in Morocco. “We will in no way obscure the latest resolutions of the UN Security Council, which reinforces the position of the Kingdom, and puts Algiers before its responsibilities.”
“I had the opportunity to participate in many international conferences with Americans and others and to meet Algerian intellectuals around the world. And the vast majority of them almost all have the same position, that is to say that the Sahara is Moroccan, and what the state in Algeria is implementing as a neighborhood policy is not acceptable in any country around the world,” the expert pointed out.
He insists that France currently has Algerian oil and gas in its sights. “Today, we can say that France is trying to play this role of neutrality in this region of North Africa”, said ElHusseini.
Elhusseini said newspaper LeMonde recognizes that France has always followed Morocco in its legitimate claims, having in this regard all the documents proving the Moroccan Sahara. “Algeria has reached a point of no return in its vowed hatred of Morocco, providing gas and oil free of charge for any country that recognizes the separatist movement as a state.”
In this same context, Tajeddine El Husseini indicated that Mauritania is subject to daily pressure in order to found an Arab Maghreb without Morocco, but the new mechanism of Moroccan diplomacy is promising and is no longer a defensive diplomacy.
This shows that Morocco’s position embraces the principles established by the UN Security Council for a realistic political agreement capable of bringing peace and security to the region, the international relations specialist concludes.
