The Chief Rabbi of Saudi Arabia, Yisrael Herzog, arrived from Riyadh to Rabat to visit the Chief Rabbi of Morocco, Bento Yoshiyahu. According to Israeli media sources, the Saudi rabbi sought the blessing and advice of his Moroccan counterpart.
The latter was informed of the work done for the Jewish community in the Arabian Peninsula, including ensuring access to certified kosher products, or religious guidance, among other issues.
“There are thousands of Jews living in Saudi Arabia who come to work there. There are a lot of Jewish expatriates and a lot of demand for religious matters. The Saudis have welcomed us and shown us a lot of respect,” said Yisrael Herzog.
