Jenna Ortega, the star of the popular Netflix series “Wednesday,” is accused of anti-semitic hatred due to her support of Palestinians and advocacy for their cause.

A story comparing Ortega to the infamous American rapper Kanye West triggered a social media dispute in which individuals expressed that the hate towards her is unjustified.

The article was published in The Times of Israel Journal, with the title “Jenna Ortega vs Kanye West: Whose anti-Semitic hate is worse?”

It says that the 20 years old actress is “ dangerous to the safety of Jewish people.”

The article explains how Ortega promoting humanitarian causes in her socials, such as supporting Ukrainians, Palestinians, and Iranians, is a problem.

“Jenna Ortega presumably sincerely believes that antisemitism is evil, no less so than sexism, homophobia, hatred of Muslims, or other forms of racism and xenophobia,” reads a section of the article called ‘The antisemitism of the well-intentioned but uninformed.’

The Times of Isreal said that “The idea that she promotes anti-Jewish causes would likely make her shudder. The problem is that, like millions of other well-meaning Americans, she has no real understanding of antisemitism, and therefore is unlikely to recognize it in at least some of its forms. And, also like millions of other Americans, she likely doesn’t do much investigation into a cause before she posts it to social media. The number of celebrities who at least in part handle their own social media is astounding.

Following Wednesday’s massive success, Ortega gained a massive following.

Her tweet said “We must never give up on the people of Ukraine, Yemen, Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq, Syria… The list goes on, unfortunately. For anyone who is willing and wanting to contribute in any way they can, I want to form a thread with information. Does anyone have resources/links they could add?”

An old tweet of hers which reads “Decolonize Palestine” resurfaced lately, with her fans all over the world retweeting it in support of the cause.

The Times of Isreal didn’t appreciate this tweet in particular and addressed it in its article saying “Decolonize? Was this a clumsy attempt at supporting a two-state solution?”

The journal went on by attacking the young actress and making her tweets into an anti jews agenda that she is serving.

“How is it that a well-known and well-loved American actress, Jenna Ortega, can link to a site that calls for Jews to return to their status as a stateless nation, especially at a time when even open Kanye West-style Jew-hatred is on the rise?” wondered the journal then proceeded to call the actress “Ignorant of affairs in the middle east”

“A well-intentioned mistake,” is how The Times of Israel labeled Ortega’s support of Palestine. It said that it is right necessary to publicly criticize those who post anti-Israel/anti-Jewish content

The article also called out the Palestinian supermodel Bella Hadid by saying that she took a ‘Hamas’ standpoint “for seeming to believe it possible to determine which side in a war is just solely by counting casualties.”

The attack carried on as the article reads the following on Ortega: “She seems to be one of the most genuinely well-meaning people, and yet she was the one to post the most genuinely evil piece of anti-Zionist propaganda and broadcast it to more people than there are Jews on Earth.”
