The national team passed through a double-decker bus from Rabat-Sale airport, touring all the way to the Royal palace.

Masses gathered across streets leading all the way to the palace, coming from different cities since the morning to see the Atlas Lions upon their arrival.

Other citizens took the opportunity to market Moroccan national flag accessories, such as balloons, hats, and sunglasses, in addition to snacks.

“I am so happy to be here during this memorable day, and seeing them in a few seconds means the world to me,” Samia Derrak told Hespress EN.

“I came from Casablanca to see the Moroccan pride, they raised our flag high and made history during the whole competition,” she added.

The national team has shown unprecedented performance during the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup, after beating strong opponents, namely Belgium (2-0), Canada (2-1), Spain on penalties (3-0), and Portugal (1-0).

Peaceful ambiance to riot attempts

Immediately after the national football team’s passing, Moroccan people have begun racing and rushing to return to their homes.

Several began mobbing and racing, others took the opportunity to enter the train station and get to the train without purchasing the ticket to their destination, as seen by Hespress EN journalists.

Young citizens gathered while waiting for the train, singing songs to make the occasion last longer and remembering their historical achievements during the World Cup.

Personnel at the train station failed to monitor and control the situation and ended up leaving them access to make their return to their homes.
