Moroccan defender and captain Romain Saiss will miss the play-off match vs Croatia in the World Cup, Saturday, according to Walid Regragui in the pre-match press conference.

After being subbed-off in the semi-final match against France in the 21st minute due to an injury he suffered in the left thigh during the 1-0 victory over Portugal in the quarter-finals, Sais will not be able to play the match for third place against Luka Modric and his companions.

“We lost our captain, Roman Saiss, during the match.. We risked him, but it was worth the risk.. We wanted to go to battle with him while he was in command of his teammates,” Regragui said.

The Manager followed by saying, “we’ll check them out today. We really pushed our players to their limits, but they still want to go out tomorrow and play again. But we will not take risks with any of our players.”

“Romain Saiss is out. However, I trust our group, and I know that we will be able to give our all tomorrow.”

After the loss against France, Regragui indicated that he would make adjustments to his squad for the third-place match in order to give some players the opportunity to participate, but he made it clear on Friday that he would not make radical changes due to the danger that it carries in facing a team like Croatia.
