Morocco and Spain have agreed to host a High-Level meeting in either the last week of January or the first week of February, bringing the heads of the two nations together for the second time since they turned a new page in relations.
The announcement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita during the 7th Union for the Mediterranean Forum on Thursday in Barcelona.
Early 2023 will also sethe first passage of goods from Ceuta and Melilla by land, said Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs José Albares, who spoke alongside Bourita.
“I informed my colleague that we will be very happy to host the next High-Level Meeting chaired by the two heads of government in Morocco. And we have now dates: the last week of January or the first week of February to have this meeting in Morocco,” Bourita said.
“I think it will be the first one since now five or six years and it will be a good opportunity to host again his Excellency the Spanish Head of Government and meet with his Majesty and the Head of our Government,” he added.
The two counterparts said they are “fully satisfied” with the implementation of provisions of the roadmap agreed upon in April 2022 to give Spanish-Morocco relations a new impetus.
“ We will implement every provision of this roadmap. All the commitments will be implemented,” Bourita added.
