Moroccan midfielder Amine Harit’s dream of playing the World Cup is over, after he suffered a serious knee injury on Sunday, seven days before the tournament.

Harit was playing his last game for Olympique Marseille before the World Cup, against AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1, when he was severely injured, ruling him out of the international competition.

The 25-year-old player was Included in coach Walid Regragui’s final 26-man squad for the World Cup that was announced last Friday.
