Greenhouse gas emissions three times higher than producers

Greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas facilities worldwide are roughly three times higher than what their producers claim.

On Wednesday, a new report from Climate Trace, a project to measure the true levels of carbon dioxide and other global warming gases at the source, revealed that half of the world’s 50 largest sources of greenhouse gases were oil and gas fields and production facilities.

There are few ways to hold people accountable for underreporting their emissions, which is something that many do.
