The national coach Walid Regragui said that he could not make many changes to the team after he assumed his leadership duties shortly before the start of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The international sporting event is set to kick off on November 20, with Morocco coming out in Group F countries, alongside Croatia, Belgium, and Canada.

Regragui said in an interview with Canal Plus, “the national team should play as a group, and not like players with individual performance only, and I cannot make big changes a few days before the World Cup, we will work on some small details.”

“I had a long experience with the Moroccan national team as a player, and then as an assistant coach, and now my task is to provide the addition through that experience that I gained. We have good players,” he added.

“Time is running out to find a unique combination, so we are relying on the best names in the midst of a collective mold. We must approach the acquisition method and efficiency will be present, which will take time and a succession of matches to achieve the level that I dream of,” he continued.

The Atlas Lions coach stated that “we have a large audience known for their strong encouragement, and I have experienced that before with Wydad. Big fans will be there to support us in Qatar. Therefore, I am optimistic before the start of the tournament.”

“We have a team capable of creating a surprise. We will create problems for all opponents. We have to respect them and play our way,” he concluded.

The national team is set to play another friendly game on November 17 against Georgia in Qatar, as part of preparation ahead of the sporting event’s launch.
