Casablanca-born comedian Gad El Maleh announced coming back to the artistic scene with the upcoming release of his movie ‘Reste un peu’. Directing and starring in the film, Gad El Maleh has been promoting the release on his over two million followers Instagram account.

This movie comes after Gad lived his American dream in the United States for three years.

The actor told French media ’24 heures’ that this film of which he is proud was for him a way of questioning serious themes in a light manner.

“I know that I am playing with fire with sensitive notions like what’s sacred, idolatry, passion, and temptation. Talking about my fascination for Mary, as a Jew, is a forbidden game! Today, we talk about religions in opposition to each other. But when I was a kid, in Morocco, there were synagogues, churches, and mosques in the same landscape, we lived together, Jews, Christians, and Muslims, it was obvious! We were rich of that,” explained the artist.

‘Reste un peu’ is an existentialist and humanist film that lifts the veil on the unique identity of everyone, said Direct Actu, a French pop culture, and cinema website.

Gad El Maleh described his movie as a spiritual ‘coming out’.

The film has a hint of irony according to Direct Actu.

The movie will be released in French cinemas starting on November 16.
