A total of seven people were arrested in Fez, following their alleged involvement in a case of fraud against Schengen visa applicants, according sources who spoke to Spanish news agency EFE.
The individuals were arrested on Monday, and approached the surroundings of a company in charge of managing visa applications for consulates of Schengen countries and fraudulently asked users for MAD 700 (66 euros) to process their requests, said the same source.
“During the operation, security personnel searched one of the detainees’ business premises and discovered third-party passports, requests for family reunification, and forms from the agency that processes visa applications,” added the same source.
Those arrested were placed in custody and subjected to a judicial investigation, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office in order to reveal the circumstances of the case, according to the same source.
