A total of 530,436 passengers have entered Morocco through Tangier Med port since the start of the 2022 Marhaba operation, said the Tangier Med Port Authority on Monday.
This year’s edition began on June 5 and is proceeding smoothly thanks to the participation of all stakeholders, including local authorities, the DGSN, Customs, the control, and the Royal Gendarmerie, in collaboration with the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.
Since the start of the Marhaba operation, 530,436 passengers (+10% compared to 2019) and 136,263 vehicles have returned to Morocco via the Tangier Med Passengers port, said Tangier Med in the press release.
The weekends of July 2–4 and July 30–August 1 saw two peaks, with total arrivals of 62,759 and 61,468 passengers, respectively, added the press release.
The plans for the return phase have been finalized. The port authority urges travelers to consult the traffic forecasts available on the website and mobile app and plan their return date to avoid long waits, particularly from August 25 to 30.
Likewise, the port authority informs passengers that a return ticket issued by their shipping company with a firm date and time of travel is required before they arrive at the port.
“Several communication tools are available to passengers to keep them informed of the most recent Tanger Med Passengers updates, including social media, the website, the mobile app, and Tanger Med Radio (which broadcasts on FM 100 and in streaming),” concluded the Tangier Med port authority’s press release.
