Morocco’s government council decided Wednesday to extend the state of health emergency from July 31 to September 30.

This move comes as part of efforts to contain the virus nationwide.

As of yesterday, Morocco recorded 743 Covid-19 cases, raising the total of cases since the beginning of the outbreak to 1,258,761.

The kingdom has also reported 9 Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours.

Infections in Morocco are still dominated by BA.5 subvariant.
