The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), South African Patrice Motsepe took part in the opening of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) held in Rabat, Morocco.
Morocco is hosting the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the period from July 2 to 23.
Morocco women’s national football team defeated Burkina Faso 1-0.
CAF President said that he was glad to attend the opening of this sporting event, stating that he”considers every time he comes to the Kingdom that he is at home and with his family.”
He also thanked the President of the Royal Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa for the constant welcome and reception.
CAF President also thanked King Mohammed VI for his efforts to develop Moroccan and African football.
Motsepe also called on all African countries to follow in Morocco’s footsteps in terms of infrastructure and logistics.
FIFA president, Gianni Infantino also arrived in Morocco’s capital to attend the same sporting event, according to his website’s press release.
