One person was killed and eight injured after a car drove into a group of people in central Berlin on Wednesday, the fire service said.
Police reports indicate that it remains unclear whether the incident was intentional or not, adding that the suspect had been detained at the scene.
The accident happened close to the scene of a fatal attack on December 19, 2016, when an Islamist extremist hijacked a truck, killed the driver, and then plowed it into a crowded Christmas market in Breitscheidplatz.
