Parents of Moroccan students in Ukraine continued to protest in front of the Higher Education Ministry on Wednesday, in hopes to integrate their children into Moroccan universities.
Moroccan students in Ukraine had their studies disrupted, following the outbreak of the Russian offensive that began on February 24.

Parents of Moroccan students in Ukraine renewed their call to the Higher Education Minister to hold talks in order to integrate their children into Moroccan universities unconditionally, and with no entrance exam.
Although students were resuming their academic program remotely. They consider theoretical studies as insufficient, requiring training.
Parents of those students expressed their fear regarding their children’s future, especially since the current academic year is nearing its end.

The father of a Moroccan student in Ukraine, Abdel-Fettah ElKhayat told Hespress in a statement that most parents refuse that their children study in an inferior academic year than what they used to study, and with a selective exam.
“Students in Ukraine were forced to return to Morocco, and the Minister had to take measures in order to enable them to continue their studies in Moroccan higher schools and universities, depending on their study field,” he added.
The Higher Education Ministry still didn’t decide on those students’ case, noting that no dialogue was held between the ministry and the students’ parents during these 3 months.
Shortly after their return, the Ministry launched a digital platform aiming to collect data on the repatriated students and was studying their possible admission into Moroccan universities.

“We demand the Ministry to set up a meeting with parents of students in Ukraine in order to exchange ideas, and suggestions, so that we can fix their situation,” Elkhayat added.
Students’ parents believe that the entrance exam’s condition to access Moroccan universities means ending their children’s academic path, considering that they have the needed competencies to directly integrate.
They stressed that integrating their children directly will serve the country’s interests, following the current shortage in the health sector, in addition to engineers.
The total number of returned Moroccan students from Ukraine reached 7,206, of whom 4,000 are in European countries, and 3,206 have returned to Morocco, according to the Higher Education Ministry’s data.
