More than 150,000 applications have been submitted on the digital platform dedicated to the Forsa program, revealed Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor this Monday in Parliament.
According to the Minister, the Forsa program’s platform received projects that cover various sectors of activity from all regions of the kingdom, “which reflects the great enthusiasm of entrepreneurs for the program.”
Unlike previous programs where the majority of beneficiaries are from large cities, the Forsa program has recorded the largest number of applications from small towns and rural areas, thanks to its fully digital application process.
The Minister of Tourism, designated to lead the ambitious project, stated that only 26% of applications are from large cities, against 74% of applications from small towns and rural areas.
Ammor said that the number of applications submitted was proportional to the population density in Morocco’s regions, adding that these indicators reflect that the digital platform and accompanying measures have helped “democratize” this operation and ensure its transparency.
The Forsa program, the government’s solution to developing young Moroccans’ projects and businesses with no prerequisites or conditions, will provide access to training, support, and financing to a number of selected applicants.
The initiative is based on support and funding mechanisms, which will allow project leaders to access, in a fair and equitable manner, the funding and expertise needed to join the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Forsa constitutes an opportunity at the national level for the development of start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs’ aspirations, to launch projects or develop existing ones.
The program also aims to promote the private initiative, the creation of businesses and jobs, as well as the strengthening of the national economy, according to the particularity of each region, so as to contribute to the achievement of territorial justice and the stimulation of investments in all regions of the kingdom.
