Paris Saint-Germain’s striker Kylian Mbappe won on Sunday the French league’s best player award of the season for the third consecutive time.
“It is an immense pride to make history once again. This recognition warms up my heart, thank you all, my club and fans for the trust given in this season,” Mbappe wrote on Instagram.
Real Madrid star Karim Benzema was also nominated as the best French player abroad, following his good performance in recent games within his team.
Benzema posted his picture holding the trophy, stating, “I am very glad and honored to win again the UNFP trophy of the best French player abroad.”
PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma also won the best goalkeeper award, following his performance in Ligue1.
“It’s a huge honor to receive this award. Thanks to everyone who voted for me,” Donnarumma wrote on his Instagram.
The National Union of Professional Football Players (UNFP) awards players annually in France’s top two divisions, except for 2020 due to the circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
