French President Emmanuel Macron assured on Saturday in a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that the reinforcement of military aid to the Ukrainian resistance will continue, the Élysée informed.
According to the French Presidency, Macron has “the firm intention” in his newly established second mandate to “restore [Ukraine’s] sovereignty and territorial integrity,” in coordination with European partners and allies.
“President Zelenskyy has thanked France for sending large-scale military equipment that contributes to the Ukrainian resistance. The President of the Republic has indicated that this support will continue to be reinforced, as well as that of humanitarian aid,” revealed the Élysée.
Regarding the humanitarian aid, the French Presidency specified that there are over 600 tonnes of medical material; electric generators for hospitals; food aid; housing; and emergency vehicles.
Macron also expressed to Zelenskyy his “great concern” about the Russian bombardment of Ukrainian cities and criticized Thursday’s attack on Kyiv during the visit of the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, and the Bulgarian Prime Minister, Kiril Petkov.
