The first ship from Spain arrived at Med Tangier port Tuesday morning, following the recent decision to reopen maritime links and land borders between both countries.

Transport and Logistics Ministry announced Monday that the reopening of maritime links will resume starting Tuesday between the ports of Tangier Med and the ports of Algeciras and Tarifa in Spain.

The Ministry further stated in its press release that maritime companies will gradually resume passenger transportation services by ferries or buses between both destinations.

Travelers by cars can also access the country starting Monday, the Ministry added.

These moves come as a result of the strengthening of diplomatic relations between both countries, following the recent two-day visit of Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
