The Arabic teacher accused of pedophilia and sexually assaulting his minor female students has been arrested and will remain in provisional custody after a victim filed a complaint against him nearly 10 days ago.

In the all-girls boarding high school Khadija Oum Almoeménine, in Tetouan, north of the country, several minor girls reported “sexual harassment” and “pedophilic behaviors” against the teacher, with testimonials flooding the Moroccan Outlaws page.

The civil rights collective accompanied one of the minor victims, “M”, to file a complaint, which seemingly encouraged many other alleged victims to share their experience with the “predator.”

According to the collective and its published testimonials, “the students had previously reported the actions of the teacher to the school’s principal, but were brushed off by the administration.”

The victims then decided to hang flyers across the school and its perimeters, the city’s streets, alleys, and buses, calling for testimonials, after the principal didn’t believe them.

One of the victims, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Moroccan Outlaws that the teacher “would come and take our hands and say ‘your hands are soft, delicate and so small… I would like to marry a girl your age because my wife no longer gives me what I want.”

“He kept telling me I was pretty, and that short clothes looked good on me,” says the victim, who was joined by an approximate dozen other girls who shared their experience with the Moroccan Outlaws collective.

The teacher was placed in provisional detention on Monday, March 14, ten days after the complaint was filed.

The collective has however said that “some of the victims are undergoing severe pressure from family and local authorities to not file or withdraw complaints.”

But according to the same source, “the victims are determined to assert their rights and trust the judicial system to ensure so.”
